Dr. Edward J. Klein attended Seton Hall Preparatory School, Steven's Institute of Technology and New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry (now University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). While he attended dental school he was privileged to obtain a National Institute of Health grant in the field of Neuro Physiology. The grant was obtained while he worked in the Dept. of Anatomy. This experience gave him an invaluable knowledge of the nervous system as related to the head as well as the oral structures and teeth.
After dental school he opened his dental office in 1967 at 1120 Raritan Road Clark, NJ. Over the years he has treated thousands of patients, many of whom are still under his care today. Some of these patients come from all over the country. Many have been with him for more than 30 years. Dr. Klein attends many continuing educational courses every year to maintain his skills in this ever changing world of technology. Many people are under the false impression that younger dentists have more advanced training. Nothing can be further from the truth. It is well known that nothing replaces long term experience. Today there are so many new materials and techniques available for a dentist to utilize. The fields of medicine and dentistry are advancing rapidly. Dr. Klein's education at Steven's Institute, as an enginerring major, gave him the knowledge to evaluate new dental materials and techniques. Just because something is new does not necessarily mean it is better. Therefore a dentist must be able decide if a new material or technique is worthy of incorporating Into his armamentarium.. Knowing what works and what does not work comes from long term experience. Therefore younger dentists may be at a disadvantage until they gain this experience.
